Hindostan Archive is a cultural luxury label that reimagines Indian craftsmanship through research-led design and refined, modern expression. Drawing from South Asian textiles and ancestral knowledge, the brand creates timeless, gender-fluid silhouettes that transcend trend. Every piece is a quiet act of storytelling—where past and present converge in form and feeling. Deeply committed to sustainability and craft preservation, the brand honors endangered techniques through collaborative artisan partnerships, organic materials, and ethical practices. Rooted in the belief that knowing the past is key to innovation, Hindostan Archive reshapes global perceptions of luxury through India’s textile legacy.
Hindostan Archive builds every collection on the road. Founders Sahil Meenia and Shaoni Ray spend days with Kantha embroiderers in Bengal, Paako and Rabari artisans in Kutch, and Ajrakh block‑printers in Gujarat. Up‑cycled saris and kala‑cotton twills become the base; natural indigo, turmeric, and pomegranate dyes add colour; running stitches, tie‑dye rings, and tiny silver ghungroos bring texture. Jackets and trousers are cut in small batches, so each piece moves at the maker’s pace, not a factory clock. Off‑cuts return as linings or tote bags, and almost every step is done by hand—letting India’s textile heritage breathe
Meet Sahil Meenia, the Designer
Sahil and Shaoni came together over their shared love for Indian craftsmanship, a passion they cultivated during their years at fashion school. Their bond grew stronger as they discovered their roots trace back to the partition era — Sahil’s ancestry in Sialkot, Pakistan, and Shaoni’s in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This shared experience of displacement inspired the name “Hindostan” — the pre-partition name for India — reflecting their desire to honor their collective South Asian heritage.
Their travels across India, living with artisans and learning about traditional techniques, fueled their mission to merge the past with modernity. At Hindostan Archive, they reinterpret age-old crafts into contemporary designs in way few others do, creating timeless heirlooms.
