The Creation Process

23N.69E anchors itself in Kachchh, where Ajrakh block‐prints dry beneath the desert sun as they have for centuries. Master printer Khalid Amin Khatri stamps hand‐woven cotton with indigo, madder, and pomegranate, then layers Bandhani knots, hand‐painted strokes, and marbled eco‐prints to nudge the tradition forward. Shisha mirrors flash, sewn by local women artisans like sparks on the salt flats. All cloth comes from neighbourhood looms, and every dye bath is plant‐based and recycled, keeping the footprint light. The result is fabric that feels at once timeless and exploratory-distinct as the Kachchh coordinates in its name.

Meet Anas Sheikh, the Designer

Anas's design journey really took off during an academic trip to Kachchh, Gujarat, where he first got a feel for the art of Ajrakh block printing. What started as curiosity turned into a passion when he interned with local artisans, and that spark never faded. He now spends most of his time in Kachchh, immersing himself in the surroundings of the artisans and becoming part of their textile experiments. A natural traveler and experimenter, Anas grew bored of traditional hand-block printing and started blending it with hand painting. He also incorporates discarded and broken blocks into his prints, making each piece totally unique.
