Khara Kapas-Hindi for "Pure Cotton"-brings slow fashion into a contemporary frame. Rooted in mindful living, Khara Kapas embraces ethically sourced, handspun fabrics and relaxed, timeless silhouettes designed to transcend seasons. More than just clothing, each piece is a pledge to sustainability and authenticity, ensuring that fashion is not just worn, but experienced.
Khara Kapas begins with pure, home_grown cotton straight from Indian looms. Wooden blocks stamp sun_warmed motifs onto the cloth, shibori ties and dips swirl washed_sky patterns, and delicate hand stitches seal every hem. All colour comes from azo_free, in_house dye vats, kind to both skin and soil. Cut_offs skip the bin, resurfacing as cloth totes or jute_trim belts, while made_to_order runs keep dead stock at zero. The label partners closely with weavers and tailors nationwide, then assembles each piece in its own ethical studio, where artisans like Ram Parvesh ji lend decades of skill. The result is airy ease-earthy, minimal, and impeccably crafted.
Meet Shilpi Yadav, the Designer
Shilpi treats sustainability as a daily practice, not a checklist. Guided by mindful consumption, she asks, "What do I truly need, and how can I create value without excess?" Quiet walks, solo travels, and mornings in her studio feed her eye for overlooked patterns, captured through photography and painting. Khara Kapas mirrors this process-each design born from observation, thoughtful creation, and an ever_evolving commitment to slow fashion.
