Day & Age

"Text, Textile and Time"

Day & Age is one of the most unique labels coming out of India—every piece is a one-of-one, made from vintage and found fabrics. No repeats, no reruns. Each garment is like a wearable art piece, made to belong to one person and one person only.

The Creation Process

Day and Age makes clothes that are truly one of a kind. Each piece from their Bygones collection is made using vintage and found fabrics—just one piece per design and size, never repeated. These fabrics are collected from across India and turned into garments at their studio in Jaipur. Local artisans and embroiderers help bring each piece to life using techniques like patchwork, appliqué, kantha, and hand embroidery. Most pieces are made to order or in small batches to avoid waste. Everything is made locally, keeping things thoughtful, personal, and gentle on the planet.

Meet Shreya & Sharan, the Designer

The idea behind Day & Age started when Shreya, a textile student, and Sharan, a graphic design student, discovered a shared fascination with the connection between text and textile. The word "text" and "textile" both come from the Latin root "texere," meaning to weave. This realization sparked conversations about how both words and fabric tell stories. After graduating, their discussions grew into a creative inquiry, leading to the creation of Day & Age. Shreya's love for textiles and illustration brings life to her designs, while Sharan's intuitive process explores design as a tool for self-reflection and culture. Together, they’ve built a brand rooted in thoughtful making.
