The Yogi Textiles

"Bringing Folk Tales To Life"

The Yogi Textiles is a poetic interplay of tradition and modernity, where every running stitch and hand embroidery becomes a vessel for folk tales and ancestral memory. Drawing from vintage Kantha, Sujani, and Rabari techniques, the brand reimagines motifs of animals, plants, and daily life on naturally dyed, handwoven cotton and muslin. Crafted by women-led collectives, each piece is a slow, mindful celebration-bridging generations through the language of thread.

The Creation Process

The Yogi Textiles threads history into modern silhouettes. Hand‐woven kala cotton from Kutch and whisper‐fine Bengal muslin arrive undyed; women artisans in Bihar and Delhi then map Kantha's running‐stitch constellations, while Rabari craftswomen lay Sankli chains in geometric rows of mirror‐bright colour. Every motif nods to nineteenth‐century quilts yet feels fresh against tailored tops and fluid dresses. Production is deliberately slow-small batches, fair wages, no synthetics-so each piece holds hours of handwork and the livelihood of its maker. The result is a garment that wears its story proudly, carrying living heritage into everyday life.

Meet Hemanshi Jain, the Designer

For Hemanshi, it began with a simple discovery - a Bandhani wool stole that revealed the timeless versatility of traditional craft in a modern world. With a background in architecture, she was already attuned to natural materials and the quiet strength of structure. But it was a visit to Bhuj, Kutch - watching yarns being hand-spun, pit looms moving in rhythm, and dyes drawn from the earth - that truly ignited her passion for textiles. What began as admiration soon became a calling, leading her to create The Yogi Textiles: a celebration of craft, continuity, and thoughtful design.
