Khandua Silk Blouse

Description

Coffee black Khandua silk, with woven stripes and Pipli collar

CRAFT- Khandua fabrics employ the 'single ikat' bandha resist dye technique. Threads on either the warp or weft of the handloom are tie-dyed prior to weaving, employing an astonishingly complex mathematical expertise to incorporate patterns.

The word Khandua means 'lower half', derived from the fact that the finest Khandua silks with the Gita Govinda woven in, are traditionally used to cover the lower part of Jagannath's deity at the Puri temple.

Handle with care: Due to the unique nature of traditional textiles, colour and motif variations may occur. Embrace the individuality of your garment as part of its cultural charm.
